Rev. Fr. Nnadozie Williams Ofoegbu (MDM)

I am a Catholic missionary priest ordained to the presbyterate on 15 th July, 2017. I work in a parish and in a prison as a pastor of souls in the Diocese of Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. My drive towards the less privileged comes from my upbringing amidst the financial limitations of my family. Despite our hardships, my parent’s door was always opened to the homeless and their pot was always ready to share with the hungry.

As a young seminarian in my home region of Lagos, my parish priest would often have me accompany him to the maximum prison where he would administer to the needs of the imprisoned as their pastor. God was preparing me for this future journey assisting to these souls cut off from society with love and care.

Working with the young and the less privileged children has been an honor for me since my ordination as a priest. I have shared my priestly work and my love for the less fortunate with Mrs. Dawn in 2018 and here we are. The Holy Spirit has led us together accompanied by a wonderful team of devoted men and women to create DMMI (Divine Mercy Ministries International,Inc.).

Since our friendship was forged and DMMI originated, many families I serve have benefitted from receiving much needed help for daily living. Children have received clothing, shoes, and many of these beloved children have returned to the classroom. The prisoners have also benefitted receiving support even after their terms were served.

During my recreation time, I enjoy writing poems, watching and playing football (soccer), and above any of my interests, my time spent in prayer is what I seek the most. My greatest joy is to meet and serve souls just as they are.

I look forward to sharing God’s love and mercy with many more souls.

May the Holy Spirit continue to make each of us an instrument in God’s hand.

Shalom.
